Summary

Based anywhere in the APAC region, this fully flexible role focuses on supporting, maintaining, and improving Moodle's Academy and Community sites. You will ensure platform stability, security, and scalability, lead infrastructure improvements, and contribute to Moodle development. The ideal candidate possesses strong Moodle development knowledge, PHP programming skills, and experience with various technologies. Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Moodle development
  • Strong PHP programming, SQL, database management and linux scripting experience
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript & Ajax, Python
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting network, system and application issues
  • Using Docker and Kubernetes orchestration
  • Utilizing and administration of code repositories (Git / GitHub / GitLab)
  • Working in a large-scale development environment using hosted AWS infrastructure
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Collaborative and team focused attitude, a willingness to embrace the culture, all with a genuine passion for helping Moodle advance our mission

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance Moodle Community sites, ensuring reliability and performance
  • Upgrade sites to every Moodle minor & major release
  • Implement improvements and changes to the community sites' front and backend
  • Test and develop custom features for the community sites
  • Debug reported problems and provide technical resolutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MediaWiki cloning and upgrading
  • Experience working in a remote, agile environment
