Devops - Sr. Engineer

Summary

The DevOps Engineer will be part of the client's development support team, responsible for administering, monitoring, deploying systems and services on cloud platforms, collaborating with technical leads, and migrating infrastructure to AWS. They are expected to have experience with Azure DevOps, Microsoft SQL Server product stack, Postgres Databases, CI/CD pipelines, AWS Cloud, Docker/K8s, Python, Terraform, networking protocols, and knowledge of DNS, HTTP, load balancing, and web servers. The position is a contractor role, 100% remote, with USD payment, 10 business days PTO, and a MacBook Pro M1.

Requirements

• Fluent level of English
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Microsoft SQL Server product stack
• Postgres Databases, Integrations and Reporting Services
• Creation of CI/CD pipelines (tooling i.e. Python, Java, Powershell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, Cloudformation, Puppet, Chef, or similar)
• AWS Cloud
• Docker/K8’
• Python, Terraform
• Knowledge of networking protocols, DNS, HTTP, load balancing, web servers

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for making work more efficient by administering, monitoring, deploying systems and services on cloud platforms
• Among your responsibilities will be also supporting other technical teams in monitoring operating efficiencies and recommending alternative design and platform decisions that drive efficiencies
• Collaborate with technical leads to integrate an end-to-end design that is well documented
• Attend daily standups to ensure the visions of the teams align with DevOps principles
• Migration of existing infrastructure to AWS
• Maintain live services through measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health to maintain minimal downtime
• Effectively communicate with third parties, partners, and internal teams regarding technical issues
• Automate existing and new procedures
