Dietitian/Nutritionist, Weight Loss Coach

Summary
Join our growing Weight Loss team as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist! You'll be a key member of a collaborative team, coaching customers through a digital weight loss program using evidence-based behavior change strategies. Your responsibilities include helping customers achieve their goals via phone/video sessions and messaging, collaborating with other teams, and providing valuable feedback to improve the program. This is a 12-month, fully remote contract position based in South Africa, requiring evening/weekend availability with time off provided for weekend work. Eligibility for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) is required. You will be instrumental in shaping our weight loss offering and contributing to the overall success of the program.
Requirements
- Be a Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist with HPSCA eligibility (current registration not required, but required upon offer)
- Have proven experience in coaching and delivering evidence-based behavioural change techniques to support improvement in health and wellbeing
- Be able to adapt to change seamlessly in a start-up environment
- Be a confident relationship-builder with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Have demonstrable experience of taking ownership of individual tasks and responsibilities, working effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Be comfortable taking initiative and demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Be based in South Africa and have the right to work in SA
Responsibilities
- Help customers reach their weight loss and health goals via engaging and effective coaching across multiple digital channels
- Use evidence-based behaviour change strategies to support customers in developing healthy habits across various aspects such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, and mindset
- Develop knowledge and understanding of our weight loss medications, considering how these will integrate into a customer's lifestyle, and being aware of potential impacts and side effects
- Work with the wider clinical and customer support teams to ensure safe and effective practice across coaching and prescribing
- Engage in additional tasks as required to contribute to the overall development of the weight loss service
- Champion the customers internally by providing feedback and insights to the wider business on the successes and challenges of the program
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in the weight loss and Nutrition space
