Summary

Join Pathward, a hybrid, remote-office financial empowerment company, as a Director of Business Development to drive the expansion of the company’s footprint within the U.S. banking and credit union sector. This senior individual contributor role focuses on significantly increasing direct partnerships with financial institutions through proactive outreach and managing strategic relationships with third-party organizations. You will be responsible for the full business development lifecycle, from prospecting and pitching to negotiation and onboarding. Collaboration with internal teams and reporting on partnership performance are key aspects of this role. The position requires a strategic thinker with strong execution skills and the ability to independently manage the business development lifecycle. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience
  • Typically 8+ years’ experience in business development or partnerships within the financial services or fintech sectors
  • Highly motivated, independent, and results-driven
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization including executive and C-level

Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage, and secure new partnerships with banks and credit unions across the U.S
  • Develop and manage strategic alliances with ecosystem partners who influence or serve financial institutions
  • Drive the full business development lifecycle – from prospecting and pitching to negotiation and onboarding
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and executive teams to align partnership strategies with company goals
  • Track and report on partnership performance, pipeline metrics, and market insights
  • Accurately forecast future sales and retention opportunities, through pipeline and analytics reporting
  • Regularly report to senior management on progress toward sales goals
  • Serve as a business representative at major industry events, conferences, workshops, social media campaigns, trade shows and exhibitions to retain and attract new clients and Sales Agents
  • Develop and execute lead acquisition and Sales Agent strategies in partnership with the Marketing department
  • Negotiate contracts in line with Legal direction and in the best interest of Pathward
  • Other duties as assigned
