Join Nuvalent as their Director, Field HEOR Scientist and become the medical scientific lead, communicating the value of their clinical and health economics and outcomes data to formulary decision makers. This field-based role demands developing and fostering relationships while engaging in peer-to-peer scientific and health economic discussions with payers and oncology practices. You will be a member of the Medical Affairs team, cultivating strong matrix team partnerships across Market Access and Medical functions. Responsibilities include engaging healthcare stakeholders, supporting Market Access account managers, identifying and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders, proactively representing evidence needs, identifying opportunities for research collaborations, developing disease state expertise, providing internal training, attending scientific sessions, and adhering to compliance guidance. The position requires an advanced degree and significant experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, along with strong communication and collaboration skills. Travel is required.
Requirements
- Required advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD/DO, NP, PA-C or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience (Oncology, Solid Tumor, Lung Cancer)
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
- Ability to interpret key scientific data and translate findings to meet educational and research needs
- Highly self-motivated and ability to work independently
- Collaborative, team-based approach; ability to network and partner with internal and external stakeholders, including medical thought-leaders and a wide range of healthcare professionals
- Understanding of clinical and regulatory requirements in a field-based medical organization
- Willingness to travel as necessary, up to 75% at peak times
Responsibilities
- Engage healthcare and access stakeholders in clinical, scientific, and health economic exchange
- Support Market Access account managers through field-based, customer-focused initiatives
- Identify and maintain relationships with HEOR and market access key opinion leaders, healthcare and access decision makers including pharmacy benefit management, specialty pharmacies, and other clinical/academic consultants within assigned responsibility
- Proactively represent the evidence needs of health care decision makers within HEOR and other stakeholders to ensure that unmet needs are identified and prioritized in planning processes
- Identify opportunities for and develop health economic and outcomes research collaborations
- Develop and maintain relevant disease state expertise and support home office HEOR projects as needed
- Provide internal training and education on health economics and outcomes data to account managers, MSLs, other functions and leadership
- Attend and provide scientific support for US Medical Affairs activities and scientific sessions at relevant regional and national congress meetings and communicate insights internally
- Adhere to corporate and healthcare compliance guidance in all activities, including those related to clinical trials, scientific interactions with internal and external groups, and responses to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information
