Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the accounting field with a combination of public accounting, late-stage technology start-ups and/or public companies
  • 3+ years acting in a managerial capacity
  • In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and related revenue accounting standards, with a particular emphasis on SaaS related issues
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, able to communicate complex concepts and risk factors to stakeholders and influence decision making
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business process transformation and change management
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a virtual team
  • Must be based remotely in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606, ASC 310, ASC 326, ASC 340-10-40 and other relevant accounting standards
  • Oversee the timely and accurate recognition of revenue from subscription and service contracts
  • Maintain revenue recognition, booking policy, and other related policies and accounting memos
  • Oversee, interpret, provide feedback and sign contracts and related order forms that align with company policies and goals
  • Optimize the end-to-end order to cash process, including order entry, billing, collections, and cash application
  • Identify opportunities for automation and analysis to streamline operations
  • Implement best practices to enhance operational performance
  • Partner with sales, finance, legal and product teams to develop pricing strategies, contractual terms, and effective billing practices
  • Manage the execution of global revenue, accounts receivable and related accounts including the month-end close process
  • Prepare and present accurate financial reports related to revenue and cash flow
  • Manage internal and external audits related to revenue accounting and ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 5 accounting professionals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in leading revenue accounting functions through rapid growth and expanding product offerings, with a proven ability to develop and execute effective strategies
  • CPA, or equivalent
  • Experience at a Big 4
  • Experience with WorkDay
