Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree in Pharmacy is required
  • Current and Active Pharmacy License is required
  • 3+ years of clinical experience
  • Experience working on or with a Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committee
  • Experience assessing and critically appraising clinical trials, evaluating comparative effectiveness evidence
  • Experience writing and presenting monographs and class reviews
  • Experience with pharmacy benefit management, financial and clinical aspects of the benefit
  • Experience with handling multiple projects at once in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingual fluency in both Spanish and English is a must)

Responsibilities

  • Develop clinical decision support tools such as decision trees, therapeutic mapping and clinical rules
  • Continuously look for ways to streamline and improve the quality of drug information evaluation
  • Active participation in Pharmacy and Therapeutic (P&T) Committee internal and external, via zoom or in person
  • Prepare drug monographs and drug clinical criteria (this includes new molecular entities, new dosage forms, and new indications as approved by FDA)
  • Continually acquiring clinical knowledge with current and emerging trends in clinical guidelines and formulary strategies
  • Evaluate and interpret medical literature, clinical studies, and drug monographs to provide accurate and reliable drug information
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive literature review to gather evidenced-based information
  • Respond to drug information inquiries from clients and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor and analyze medication errors to identify trends and prevent future occurrence
  • Conduct DURs including but not limited to evaluating medication use patterns, identifying opportunities for optimization and implementing strategies to enhance therapeutic outcomes while minimizing risk
  • Assist in training and mentoring of pharmacy students
  • Other projects or duties as needed
