Summary

Join Zenar Corporation as an Electrical Designer/Entry-Level Electrical Engineer in Oak Creek, WI, where you'll oversee electrical design and programming for overhead crane projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 2-3 years of relevant experience, or 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Circuit design knowledge preferred
  • TIA Portal or RS Logix experience a plus
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 and UL 508A
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills – ability to review relevant information and develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Critical thinking – Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approach to problems
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, ERP, object-oriented development software
  • Experience with AutoCad and SolidWorks required

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components into design
  • Prepare technical drawings, specs of electrical systems to ensure installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
  • Design, implement, maintain and/or improve electrical instruments, equipment, or systems. Update and/or develop new engineering standards to support current or new software
  • Redesign standard systems, improving quality and productivity, while reducing costs
  • Begin the process of building a database of drawings into Solidworks
  • Review and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements
  • Establish and maintain a parametric bill of materials for system interface with material management and planning software
  • Prepare specifications for purchase of material and/or equipment
  • Act as a technical resource for product field support of customers, service personnel and field sales force, assisting in addressing and resolving problems
  • Travel to job sites to resolve problems (on occasion)
  • Convert high usage Anvil parts/drawings to Solidworks
  • Participate on cross-functions teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design, and quality problems, and ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods
  • Act as a technical resource for product field support of customers, service personnel and field sales force, assisting in addressing and resolving problems
