Summary

Join CS Group- US as a Junior/Mid-Level/Senior Embedded Software Engineer to test embedded safety-critical software applications for aerospace or defense systems. This hybrid or fully remote role may evolve into a leadership or software development position. You will design, develop, analyze, and test real-time embedded software, collaborating with various engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle. Proficiency in embedded software (Assembly, C, C++) and understanding of open/closed-loop and HIL testing are essential. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Masterโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
  • Embedded systems experience including C experience
  • Accepting a range of experience from recently graduated to 20+ years of experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Dual citizenship should be disclosed
  • Knowledge in Phython
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with internal teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and lead work packages

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, analysis, evaluation, verification, integration/test of real time embedded software
  • Collaboratively work with other software, quality, design, and test engineers as well as electrical and system engineers throughout all phases of the product development lifecycle, from idea and conceptualization, through requirements, design, development, and testing
  • Demonstrate proficiency with embedded software (such as Assembly, C and C++) able to design and develop software solutions
  • Understanding of both open and closed loop testing along with Hardware In the Loop (HIL) Testing
  • Decomposition of systems, software, and design requirements into architecture, and detailed design
  • Provide guidance to less experienced team members
  • Effectively and timely communicate with project team and leadership to enable quick issue resolution
  • The role requires the use of various development tools such as oscilloscopes and trace tools, and adherence to regulatory compliance standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Model Based Development (MBD) is desirable
  • Knowledge in Visual Basic, C++, Matlab is an advantage
  • Experience in complex electronic hardware (DO-178C), or equivalent industry doing disciplined embedded development
  • Experience in software (DO-331) is a bonus
  • Preference if located in the Hartford area
  • Otherwise, must be able to travel approximately six weeks in the year
