Engineering Consultant

Join Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. as a senior-level engineering consultant in our Nuclear business unit! This remote or office-based position (San Jose, CA; Centennial, CO, or Huntersville, NC) involves engineering consulting supporting the energy industry, focusing on fracture mechanics and related fields. You will support project teams in various areas, including probabilistic analysis and stress analyses. The ideal candidate possesses a Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline and 12+ years of experience. Requirements

• Hold a Master’s degree in Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering, or a similar discipline
• Possess 12-15+ years of related engineering experience with an MS degree (10-13+ years with a PhD)
• Have basic knowledge of statistics
• Demonstrate knowledge of programming
• Have completed coursework in linear-elastic and elastic-plastic fracture mechanics
• Be proficient in writing technical reports and possess strong communication skills
• Be able to obtain Nuclear Unescorted Access Authorization (UAA)

Responsibilities

• Perform probabilistic analysis
• Conduct fracture mechanics and stress analyses
• Calculate crack stress intensity factors using closed-form solutions
• Determine crack acceptability, crack growth, and allowable crack size
• Participate in design and repair projects of pressure vessel/piping components
• Develop and maintain engineering software

Preferred Qualifications

• Hold a PhD degree in Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering, or a similar discipline
• Have Probabilistic Fracture Mechanics (PFM) experience
• Have experience in object-oriented programming languages such as C#
