Requirements

  • Hold a Master’s degree in Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering, or a similar discipline
  • Possess 12-15+ years of related engineering experience with an MS degree (10-13+ years with a PhD)
  • Have basic knowledge of statistics
  • Demonstrate knowledge of programming
  • Have completed coursework in linear-elastic and elastic-plastic fracture mechanics
  • Be proficient in writing technical reports and possess strong communication skills
  • Be able to obtain Nuclear Unescorted Access Authorization (UAA)

Responsibilities

  • Perform probabilistic analysis
  • Conduct fracture mechanics and stress analyses
  • Calculate crack stress intensity factors using closed-form solutions
  • Determine crack acceptability, crack growth, and allowable crack size
  • Participate in design and repair projects of pressure vessel/piping components
  • Develop and maintain engineering software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hold a PhD degree in Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering, or a similar discipline
  • Have Probabilistic Fracture Mechanics (PFM) experience
  • Have experience in object-oriented programming languages such as C#
