Summary

Join Airalo, the world’s first eSIM store, as an Engineering Lead and help scale our engineering team. You will provide technical direction, mentorship, and feedback to talented engineers, driving projects to completion and ensuring high-quality product delivery. This remote-first position requires a minimum of 5 years of technical experience and expertise in specific programming languages. You will build a collaborative and inclusive team, focusing on ownership and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams in web, iOS, and/or Android product delivery and familiarity with telecommunications or travel-tech.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of technical background and are able to contribute to planning and design discussions, drive technical decisions and perform code reviews
  • Experience coding and domain expertise in one of the following languages: PHP, JavaScript, Kotlin, and/or Swift
  • Experience in guiding teams through planning, prioritization, and execution of work
  • Expertise in building and refactoring scalable customer-centric systems
  • Familiarity with common AWS services
  • Experience with Docker
  • Knowledge and experience with Unit Testing/Feature Testing/Mocking
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English

Responsibilities

  • Extend and improve engineering best practices in your team
  • Maintain and improve a collaborative environment, commit to driving projects to completion creatively
  • Motivate and instill a strong sense of ownership in your team
  • Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team members
  • Ensure that the team delivers high quality products and solutions by following the best practices, e.g. testing, observability, etc
  • Build a team that is collaborative, inclusive, and respectful of each other
  • Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team members
  • Work with your engineers and/or product managers to maintain a prioritized backlog and create short term and long term goals
  • Own your team’s deliverables and ensure we continue to ship scalable, highly-available products
  • Work closely with the recruiting team and peers to hire high potential candidates from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work experience building or leading a team in the delivery of products across web, iOS, and/or Android
  • Prior work experience in telecommunications, travel-tech or network infrastructure
  • Knowledge of eSIM and GSMA related technologies and services
