Engineering Manager

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of engineers
• Proficiency in at least one higher level programming language (e.g. Java, Python)
• Strong experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud computing platforms (AWS)
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineers at various levels of experience
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment
• Experience working with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. terraform)

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and direction to the team, ensuring the design, implementation, and maintenance of a resilient, scalable and cost-effective platform
• Mentor and coach engineers within the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and improvement
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, establish project timelines, and allocate resources effectively to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer needs
• Foster a collaborative environment within the team and across departments, promoting open communication, knowledge sharing, and teamwork
• Drive technical innovation within the team, exploring new tools, technologies, and approaches to enhance performance, security, and reliability
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, proactively addressing challenges to minimize disruptions to service delivery
• Establish and enforce quality standards and best practices for development, testing, and deployment to ensure the delivery of reliable, secure infrastructure and the platform

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in regulated / compliance spaces with a strong emphasis on security
• Experience managing and operating Kubernetes
• Experience developing and building an Engineering Platform
• Experience in recruiting and building high-performing engineering teams
• AWS certifications will be a bonus
