Summary
Join Smarsh, a leading provider of digital communication risk management solutions, as an Engineering Manager. Lead a Platform Engineering team responsible for Kubernetes infrastructure in AWS, contributing to the foundational platform for internal service teams. You will provide technical guidance, mentor engineers, manage projects, foster collaboration, and drive innovation. This role requires strong technical expertise in development, management, and security, along with proven leadership skills. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of engineers
- Proficiency in at least one higher level programming language (e.g. Java, Python)
- Strong experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud computing platforms (AWS)
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineers at various levels of experience
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. terraform)
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to the team, ensuring the design, implementation, and maintenance of a resilient, scalable and cost-effective platform
- Mentor and coach engineers within the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, establish project timelines, and allocate resources effectively to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer needs
- Foster a collaborative environment within the team and across departments, promoting open communication, knowledge sharing, and teamwork
- Drive technical innovation within the team, exploring new tools, technologies, and approaches to enhance performance, security, and reliability
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, proactively addressing challenges to minimize disruptions to service delivery
- Establish and enforce quality standards and best practices for development, testing, and deployment to ensure the delivery of reliable, secure infrastructure and the platform
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in regulated / compliance spaces with a strong emphasis on security
- Experience managing and operating Kubernetes
- Experience developing and building an Engineering Platform
- Experience in recruiting and building high-performing engineering teams
- AWS certifications will be a bonus
