Engineering Manager, Data Connectors Platform

Summary

Join Algolia's Connectors Platform Team as an Engineering Manager and lead a team developing products for seamless data integration. You will oversee the development of Algolia API clients, data transformation services, and integrations with platforms like Shopify and BigCommerce. This role involves leading and mentoring a team, collaborating with other engineering managers and product teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products. The ideal candidate possesses extensive engineering management and engineering experience, proficiency in relevant technologies, and strong communication skills. Requirements

• Have 3+ years of engineering management experience and 5+ years of engineering experience
• Are comfortable with our tech stack. Go/GCP based backend, React frontend
• Experienced with data heavy products and platforms
• Are an excellent communicator able to translate product requirements into technical tasks and vice-versa
• Are capable of jumping in the trenches with the engineers — managing incidents, handling on-call, etc

Responsibilities

• Lead a team, as well as hiring, onboarding, and fostering professional development
• Work closely with other EMs and Product teams to build quality products
• Proven ability to inspire and guide team members, with excellent communication skills
• Lead both backend and frontend engineers
• Ability to plan, build teams, and manage execution to deliver on commitments reliably
