Join Canva's Help Content & Findability team and lead a multidisciplinary team of frontend and backend engineers to scale intelligent, contextual help and search experiences. Shape and execute technical strategies to reduce contact rates and boost user satisfaction. Coach engineers, collaborate with Product, Design, and Data teams, and champion engineering excellence. Set the strategic direction and technical vision for user help infrastructure and search discovery experiences, ensuring the team delivers robust, scalable software. This role requires a pragmatic, hands-on technical leader with deep experience in building and scaling full-stack systems, ideally with Java, Typescript, GraphQL, and AWS. Deep technical knowledge in service architecture, search systems, or knowledge bases is also needed. The ideal candidate thrives on leading through change, fostering a high-performing team culture, and solving complex problems at scale.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Leading a multidisciplinary team of frontend and backend engineers to scale intelligent, contextual help and search experiences
- Shaping and executing technical strategies that reduce contact rate and boost user satisfaction
- Coaching engineers to grow in their craft, delivery, and impact
- Collaborating with Product, Design and Data to evolve in-product help and discoverability experiences
- Championing engineering excellence while staying hands-on when needed to unblock or guide the team
- Setting the strategic direction and technical vision for user help infrastructure and search discovery experiences
- Ensuring your team delivers robust, scalable software — from backend services to UI components
Preferred Qualifications
