Engineering Manager, Platform

Summary

Join LTK's Platform Engineering team as an Engineering Manager and lead a team of engineers. You will drive the vision and strategy for platform engineering solutions, manage engineering roadmaps, and build strong cross-functional relationships. The role involves hiring, performance management, and coaching senior engineers. You will define and build scalable and secure services, gather requirements, and partner with senior management. Requirements

• 2+ years of management experience, leading/standing up a Platform Engineering Function
• 5+ years demonstrated experience shipping commercial products and services, preferably in Go
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred)
• Experience writing code in two out of three languages: Go, Python, Typescript, or C++
• Experience building and operating services on Kubernetes
• Experience building developer platforms/frameworks (Backstage.io, Cortex, Humanitec, score.dev, etc) for companies past the start-up stage
• Experience Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, system monitors, and log aggregation services
• A mindset focused on seizing opportunities and moving with urgency

Responsibilities

• Drive the vision and strategy for our Platform Engineering solutions
• Take an active role in hiring, goal setting, performance management, Promotions, and driving retention strategies across your team
• Empower, challenge, and coach a team of senior engineers to grow their impact as individual technical leaders by providing them with context and continuous feedback
• Effectively prioritize and manage our engineering roadmaps in alignment with our product roadmap
• Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across Platform Engineering partners and customers throughout engineering
• Define, document and build golden paths for teams to build services in a scalable, secure way
• Work with teams across the company to gather requirements, support and drive projects forward
• Partner with Senior Management to identify appropriate metrics for monitoring team’s performance
