English Assessment Writer

Summary

Join Education Perfect, an EdTech platform, as a contract-based Grade 6-9 English teacher to create closed assessment questions aligned with specific expectations (B3.2 and B3.3) of the Ontario curriculum. You will develop assessments covering various depths of knowledge in language conventions. This role requires 3 years of teaching experience in the Ontario English curriculum (Grades 6-8 or 9), experience writing assessments, and collaboration skills. The position offers flexible hours, remote work, and ongoing support from our team. Payment is per question created, and the contract runs from early December 2024 to late February 2025. Requirements

• Have 3 years experience teaching the Ontario English curriculum across Grades 6-8 or Grade 9
• Have experience writing robust assessment resources
• Have excellent attention to detail, time management skills and are driven to meet deadlines
• Be tech-savvy and have used online tools for visualising assessment resources
• Commit to a minimum of 10-15 hours per week from early December 2024 to late February 2025

Responsibilities

• Write sets of closed assessment questions addressing specific expectations B3.2 and B3.3, in line with content quality standards
• Cover varying depth of knowledge of language conventions in assessments
• Enable students to demonstrate their learning across the achievement chart categories
• Collaborate and apply actionable feedback on sets of closed assessment questions
• Work across topics and grades using the suite of Google applications (Docs and Sheets) and project management software to track completion

Preferred Qualifications

Have experience teaching English grammar or are TESL Canada certified
