English/French and English/Arabic Translator

Summary

The job description is for a voluntary Arabic or French Translator role at The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI), a think tank focused on applying blockchain technology to fight climate change. The role requires proficiency in English and Arabic, with C1 level or higher, and involves translation, interpretation during meetings, answering language-related queries, and cooperating with other volunteers on ad hoc projects.

Requirements

• C1 or higher proficiency in English and Arabic
• Experience translating from Arabic into English and vice versa
• 2+ years experience as a Translator/Interpreter
• Experience in providing virtual interpretation on appropriate platforms
• Experience in working independently and with teams to meet deadlines in a timely manner

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Translation Manager and providing written translation and live interpretation during meetings with foreign stakeholders
• Translating minutes, reports, and formal letters
• Answering language-related queries and assisting our developing country service users who require language support
• Cooperating with other volunteers on ad hoc projects

Preferred Qualifications

• A relevant degree or training in Languages or Communications
• Excellent written and spoken English
