Summary
Join Experian's Network Operations team as a Network Engineer to provide operational support and reduce MTTR. You will collaborate with security, build, and operational teams to maintain a secure network infrastructure, adhering to strict security requirements. Responsibilities include incident troubleshooting, network and security system monitoring across various environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, on-premises), documentation using various tools, process improvement, and technical communication. The role requires 4+ years of experience managing network technologies in a large global environment and expertise in firewalls, WAN technologies, load balancers, virtual networking, packet capture analysis, and network monitoring tools. The position is a permanent, home-based role in Costa Rica, offering various benefits.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience managing network technologies in a large globally diverse environment
- Experience with stateful firewalls (Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Fortinet) and packet inspection techniques
- Experience commonly deployed WAN technologies and concepts β P2P, MPLS, VRF, Wave, SDWAN, WAN Optimization, Switching, Routers
- Experience of virtual networking technologies such as ASA virtual contexts, VRF's, Fortinet VDOM's, and virtual networking devices such as Cisco CSR 1000v
- Experience with packet capture and analysis using WireShark
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as NNMi, Thousand Eyes, Grafana, Dynatrace, and Extrahop
- Expertise working with Telecommunications carriers
- Experience with ITIL incident, problem and change management
- Experience exercising judgment in complex, high pressure situations
- Ability using established processes and documentation
Responsibilities
- Provide direct incident troubleshooting support and management, working with internal and external customers and vendors when needed
- Monitor the network and security systems within a global multi-region, multi-tenant cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, & etc.) and on premises environment. Includes Checkpoint and Cisco FWs, Cisco and Arista switches/routers, F5 and Citrix Load Balancers, McAfee and Checkpoint IPS appliances, Incapsula WAFs and more
- Document process and issues with tools like Confluence, Service Now and Visio/Lucid Charts
- Work with leadership and other teams to establish processes will reduce MTTI/MTTD/MTTR
- Create technical-level communications to gain credibility/trust of internal and external customers
- Maintain technical knowledge of Network and Cloud technologies
- Certificate Lifecycle Management with network load-balancers, security IPS/WAF/Proxy
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Citrix Netscaler or F5 load balancers is beneficial
