Summary
Join Chainguard's Public Sector team as a Federal Sales Engineer (SE), acting as the CTO for your territory. You will be responsible for all technical aspects of sales, including product positioning, demonstrations, competitive analysis, and value proposition. This role requires strong collaboration with sales and marketing teams to develop account plans and brand awareness campaigns. You will focus on acquiring new customers and growing the existing base, owning all technical aspects of sales opportunities. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience working with the federal government, including familiarity with relevant security policies and accreditation processes. This is a high-impact role for a driven individual who wants to contribute to improving software supply chain security for the government.
Requirements
- Experience working with the federal government: CIV, DOD, or IC
- Experience with accreditation and security policies like FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or HIPAA
- For IC focused candidates, an active TS/SCI security clearance
- Significant experience in one or more of the following areas: DevOps / DevSecOps
- Significant experience in one or more of the following areas: Container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, etc.)
- Significant experience in one or more of the following areas: Container vulnerability scanning, analysis, and mitigation
- Significant experience in one or more of the following areas: AppSec
- Smart and passionate people with a bias towards action and ownership
- People who can work independently and collaboratively to build trust with customers and lead them to the best solution
- People with the ability to inspire and influence others
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Public Sector sales team to help develop and implement account plans
- Partner with the Public Sector marketing team to develop and implement brand awareness campaigns and grow pipeline
- Focus on acquiring new customer βlogosβ in addition to growing the existing customer base
- Own all technical aspects of sales opportunities (i.e. getting the technical win) while assisting current customers as they grow
- Work with existing and prospective customers to understand their software development, security, and deployment processes to determine if and how Chainguard products can help
- Conducting product demonstrations and POVs
- Growing pipeline by participating in webinars, meetups, conferences and other Public Sector and territory-focused marketing initiatives
- Advocating for your customersβ needs within Chainguard
