Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, or another related discipline
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a Quality control laboratory and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize to accommodate crucial deadlines
  • Knowledgeable of computer software programs, including spreadsheets, databases, and other Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Experience with inorganic and organic laboratory methods, including PFAS, QA/QC elements, and record keeping
  • Experience with environmental data validation practices/policies/procedure,s especially the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency National Functional Guidelines for Data Review
  • Experience with environmental databases such as ERPIMS, EQuIS, ADR.net , or FUDSChem, or data management software such as MS Access and SQL

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate laboratory data packages by United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) guidance to ensure compliance with published analytical methods and usability of environmental data
  • Collaborate and review on environmental project QAPPs
  • Compose, review, and critique technical reports
  • Upload laboratory analytical data to specific client and regulatory databases
  • Assist with and prepare portions of written reports, tables, spreadsheets and presentations
  • Prepare technical memoranda and white papers to be included in client deliverables
  • Implement innovation and automation tools produced by the team
  • Task management: Manage workloads assigned by chemistry staff within stipulated time. Should be flexible with working hours to support other geographical regions
  • Proficient in stage 2 data validation. Experience in stage 3 validation is a value add for this role, but not mandatory
  • The project chemist will support quality assurance/quality control, data management, data analysis, and various analytical chemistry aspects of environmental investigations for our clients
