Summary

Join the TAIT team as an EV Design Coordinator and manage the design process for EV charging infrastructure projects. This remote position requires ensuring high-quality, efficient, and timely design execution. You will assist and manage design efforts, develop project layouts using AutoCAD, and support the full project lifecycle. Requirements

  • Proven experience in EV charging infrastructure design, construction, or related fields
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design tools
  • Strong understanding of utility management and electrical infrastructure
  • Ability to work both independently (home office-based) and collaboratively with field teams
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in construction environments, with the ability to visit job sites as needed
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and other engineered plans
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer or desk-based setup in a home office environment
  • Capability to travel to and move through construction and field job sites, which may involve walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs or ladders, and standing for extended periods
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., equipment, plans, laptop, PPE)
  • Comfortable working in various outdoor conditions during site visits, including exposure to weather, dust, and noise
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, high-visibility vests, etc. when on site
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites across California and potentially other states

Responsibilities

  • Assist and manage design efforts for EV charging infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and client specifications
  • Develop and optimize project layouts using AutoCAD and other tools, integrating inputs from internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Support full project lifecycle from bid to closeout by enhancing design efficiency, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring alignment between plans and field conditions through site visits
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to provide design insights, implement modifications, and resolve issues effectively
  • Coordinate and manage project execution across multiple sites, including budgeting, scheduling, and tracking key milestones and vendor deliverables
  • Lead cross-functional teams and stakeholders, communicating updates, ensuring timely deliverables, and overseeing closeout activities including punch list resolution and final documentation
