Summary
Join the Ethereum Foundation's Devconnect team as a Production Magician! Based in Buenos Aires (preferred) or South America, you'll play a key role in producing a world-class Ethereum event. Responsibilities include managing vendors, logistics, volunteers, and speaker relationships. You'll need experience organizing large events, managing vendors, and working effectively under pressure. This is a part-time, contractor role starting in May 2025, increasing to full-time around July, requiring flexibility and strong communication skills in English and Spanish. The role is fully remote except during the Devconnect event in Buenos Aires.
Requirements
- Be based in Buenos Aires (preferable), or South America, or willing to be in Buenos Aires for 2 months prior to Devconnect
- Have experience organizing medium/large events (of at least 1000 people)
- Be effective while working under pressure with hard deadlines and unknown issues that are ever-present in event planning
- Proactively troubleshoot problems blocking your path, and the problems blocking the paths of others
- Have great people and communication skills
- Have an ownership mentality. When you take on a task, you get it done well and on time
- Be fluent in English and Spanish (writing and speaking)
- Have a valid passport and be able to travel throughout the year
- Be able to travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina from the 1st to the 26th of November
- Be prepared to work long nights/weekends if necessary, especially leading up to and during the event
- Be able to meet and respond to messages at varying hours of the day to accommodate a globally-located, remote team across time zones (largely based in the Americas and European time zones)
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage vendors (venue, AV, ticketing, translation, BTL company, catering, internet, and design among others)
- Facilitate collaboration between vendors whenever possible
- Manage volunteers
- Organize logistics
- Manage speaker relationships
- Maintain good communication
- Assist the broader team where needed on initiatives outside this main role
Preferred Qualifications
- Have experience in managing different collaborators or co-organizer
- Have experience in organizing event in La Rural (Buenos Aires venue)
- Have experience in managing event vendors as catering, internet, transport, and AV among others
- Have experience in World’s Fair events or International Expos
- Be able to work with a multicultural team
Benefits
