Finance Director/CFO

Summary

Join our rapidly growing US-based company as a Financial Manager and drive our financial operations. Reporting to the CEO/COO, you will be responsible for financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, compliance support, and tax planning. You'll work with a dedicated finance team and an external accounting firm. This role offers exposure to a foreign network and opportunities for skill development. The position is fully remote with flexible hours within the EST 9-5 timeframe. A competitive salary is offered, ranging from $3,000 to $4,000 per month.

Requirements

• Accounting, finance or similar degree
• At least 5 years of financial accounting experience
• At least 2 years of experience managing or supervising a team
• Experience and understanding of applicable financial standards, regulations and compliance requirements
• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of planning and organisation skills
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation of monthly management accounts within agreed timeframes
• Prepare regular operational cash flow forecasts
• Analyze and review data submissions to local and national authorities
• Ensure sales invoicing processes are adhered to and all invoices are correctly processed
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records - overseeing and reviewing transactions, with hands-on intervention when necessary
• Manage the debtors and creditors ageing
• Monitor KPIs to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvements
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations
• Review payroll and monthly payment runs
• Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices
• Support in preparing for and meeting statutory, regulatory and investor reporting requirements
• Support the annual financial audit and prepare the annual accounts
• Assist in company tax computations
• Ensure statutory returns are accurate and submitted timeously

Preferred Qualifications

• CA/ACCA/CIMA qualification
• Experience using Quickbooks or an equivalent accounting system
• Experience using payment systems such as Stripe, WISE and/or equivalent
• Experience and understanding of US tax requirements
• Exposure to US accounting and tax practices
• Experience creating and maintaining financial models
