Financial Analyst II-Property & Casualty

Summary

Join Horace Mann as a Financial Analyst II- Property & Casualty and become an integral part of the team analyzing and interpreting monthly, quarterly, and annual P&C business and financial results. You will play a key role in data analysis, projecting future performance, and developing financial plans. This position requires self-direction, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of financial and business data analysis within the insurance industry. You will need proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and relational databases. The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, a creative mindset, and a desire to learn and grow within the company.

Requirements

• Possess the capacity to self-direct your work, question data, solve difficult puzzles, and meet regular deadlines
• Demonstrate the ability to figure things out, balanced with a willingness to seek help when needed
• Have a good sense for financial & business data-analysis (e.g., income statement, premium-loss-exposure metrics, etc.)
• Possess a “head for numbers”, combined with attention to detail and an ability to identify errors in data/analysis
• Be able to become skilled with the team’s preexisting practices & protocols
• Have the confidence to try out new and creative approaches/solutions
• Possess good skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, relational databases, and computer/software applications in general
• Have a working knowledge of the insurance business, and P&C insurance in particular
• Demonstrate an attitude of optimism, self-confidence, creativity, ambition, and enthusiasm to learn new things while advancing your career
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree
• Have 3-5 years of relevant work experience
