Summary
Join Fidelity & Guaranty Life Insurance Company (F&G) as an Owned Distribution Accountant and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for FGL Holdings and its subsidiaries. You will prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and GAAP financial statements, supporting internal and external audits. Collaboration with other departments and the Owned Distribution team is essential. This role requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance, and at least one year of relevant experience. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are crucial. F&G offers a flexible work environment, including hybrid and remote options.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelorโs degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- Have a minimum of 1 year experience in a related field, preferably in Finance
- Possess experience with insurance accounting and revenue recognition standards
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to take initiative
- Have the ability to gain an understanding of processes and overall workflow of an accounting function
- Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
- Have the ability to successfully work on multiple tasks/projects to meet critical deadlines
- Have the ability to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Have the ability to independently work with or manipulate large sets of data from different systems or applications
- Possess an intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word)
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Have the ability to create complete accurate documentation of work performed
- Possess strong problem-solving skills
- Have the ability to work in a hybrid environment
- Have the ability to collaborate with internal customers and identify opportunities for improvement while demonstrating a strong desire to learn and grow
Responsibilities
- Prepare reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts and other financial data
- Execute internal controls designed to mitigate identified risks within the financial reporting process
- Prepare journal entries, evaluation and supporting analysis
- Prepare GAAP financial statements for the companyโs Owned Distribution subsidiaries
- Perform designated tasks within the monthly close management process
- Assist with requests of both internal and external auditors
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and/or internal control enhancements
- Identify discrepancies and apply critical thinking related to trends and problem solving
- Assist with ad hoc requests, special projects and other duties related to financial reporting and analysis, as assigned
- Perform other functions, duties and projects, as assigned
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
Preferred Qualifications
Have experience in insurance accounting and revenue recognition standards
