Summary

The job is a permanent full-time position as a Foodraising Manager in Atlantic Canada at Second Harvest, a food rescue organization. The role involves engaging food businesses for surplus food donation and collaborating with the Retail & Foodservice team. The employee will travel extensively across Atlantic Canada, implement a strategic food donor acquisition plan, and maintain strong relationships with food donors.

  • Must be based in Atlantic Canada; Valid Class 5 driver’s license, and able to travel across Atlantic Canada for meetings and fieldwork (mileage compensated if using own vehicle)

Responsibilities

  • Engage food businesses to source surplus, unsold food for donation
  • Collaborate with the Retail & Foodservice team to engage regional retailers and foodservice chains in Atlantic Canada to use the Second Harvest Food Rescue App
  • Implement and maintain a strategic food donor acquisition and retention plan
  • Foster strong relationships with food donors
  • Work closely with the Atlantic Operations team to rescue and redistribute food products to non-profit organizations
  • Travel extensively across Atlantic Canada to actively recruit new donors
  • Conduct cold calls, follow-up on referrals, and convert opportunities into food donations
  • Engage lapsed donors as well as donors who are decreasing their food donation support to ensure consistent food donations
  • Collaborate with regional stakeholder groups, institutions, and industry associations to promote Second Harvest’s service offerings
  • Help implement a food donor retention plan that celebrates and retains food donors
  • Deliver presentations and participate in speaking engagements with businesses to increase food donor acquisition and retention
  • Act as a key contact for Second Harvest when exhibiting at regional trade shows/conferences, manage load-in and load-out, oversee booth as exhibitor, network with potential food donors, organize and lead post-event food collections
  • Create various reports on food recovery as requested
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support the overall goals of the organization

Benefits

  • Salary: $60,000.00 Per Annum Plus Benefits
