Remote Founding Engineer

Summary

Requirements

• Strong alignment with float’s mission to improve the financial health of individuals across America, preference for lived experience
• Proven experience as a full-stack engineer with proficiency in both front-end and back-end development
• Solid understanding of one or more front-end frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue) and one or more back-end frameworks (e.g. Node.js, Django, Ruby on Rails)
• Expertise in database design and management (e.g. SQL, NoSQL)
• Proven experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and deployment practices (e.g., CI/CD pipelines)
• Ability to make thoughtful architectural decisions and understand trade-offs
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the founding team to understand product requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Design, develop, and deploy full-stack web applications
• Make informed architectural decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance
• Co-lead product direction and priorities in a fast-moving environment
• Contribute to the overall technical strategy and roadmap of the company

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the fintech or financial services industry
• Experience with the credit data industry
• Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools
• Previous experience working at a startup
