Fuel Storage Tank Construction Apprentice

Summary

Join the TAIT Team! This apprentice position will train for our Construction department, playing a critical role in environmental compliance efforts. The Petroleum Storage Tank Apprentice will learn state and local regulatory directives, work closely with trainers, and perform troubleshooting, repair, and installation without direct supervision.

Requirements

• Valid & current Driver’s License and ability to drive extensively up to 1,000 miles per week
• Experience working with general handheld tools (pipe wrenches, pipe threader, voltmeter, etc.)
• Organization and scheduling skills
• Previous experience with laptop/computer and printer along with experience using email, and Microsoft programs

Responsibilities

• Complete required training classes, both in person and online, to obtain position required certifications
• Complete and obtain 24-hour HAZWOPER certificate during initial 4-week training program
• Attend training classes, both in person and online, to obtain required certifications
• Learn to diagnose and perform repairs on UST & AST systems by assisting Foreman while on site
• Learn how to fill out project associated paperwork
• Learn how to enter inspection data / associated paperwork into online web-based data collection systems using a company laptop
• Use a computer to input timecards and work orders daily
• When necessary, drive the company work truck to client job sites
• Perform all work safely according to company and client job safety requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills and a desire to function in a position of high visibility both internal and external to the company
• Experience review and interpreting reports and documents
