Summary
Join the TAIT team as a Petroleum Service Technician Apprentice! This role involves training to become a fully qualified technician, testing, maintaining, and repairing petroleum refueling equipment. Requirements
- Completion of background check, MVR and physical/drug screening
- A valid California Driverβs License, good driving record, and reliable transportation is required (company provided vehicle with secure at-home parking)
- Ability to drive a company vehicle to job sites and drive extensive distances, occasionally up to 1000 miles per week (and conduct daily DVIR inspections)
- Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and a desire to function in a position of high visibility both internal and external to the company
- Previous experience with laptop/ computer and printer along with experience using email, and Microsoft programs
- Ability to work effectively & professionally with team & clients
- Occasional out-of-town stay is required
- Completion of background check, MVR and physical/drug screening
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs; kneel, squat, bend, stop, twist at waist & neck, etc
- Ability to speak clearly & professionally to communicate with team & clients
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk around job sites that may be dirt, cement, asphalt, uneven concrete, etc
Responsibilities
- Complete required training classes, both in person and online, to obtain position required certifications
- Complete training in the field with experienced Service Technicians and Designated Operators
- Assist with testing, diagnosing and performing repairs on UST & AST systems
- Work with handheld tools (pipe wrenches, pipe threader, voltmeter, etc.)
- Complete project associated paperwork on company laptop as required and submit on time, including timecard and daily work orders
- Drive company work truck to client job sites
- Follow all company specific and client specific job safety requirements; maintain a safe working environment
- Self-direction and ability to work alone
- Additional duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial petroleum industry
- Experience review and interpreting reports and documents
