Full Stack Engineer

Summary

Join 540 as a Full Stack Engineer to contribute to the development of applications for USCIS using modern technologies on AWS. You will be part of a fast-paced DevOps team, responsible for the full lifecycle of application development, from estimation and design to testing and deployment. Collaborate with colleagues to optimize systems, enhance integration, and improve stability and security. This role directly impacts the immigration experience for applicants. The position is remote within the continental US (East Coast hours) and requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance. 540 offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Well-versed in Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular
• Experience building cloud solutions in AWS
• Database experience (SQL, Oracle)
• Experience with automation and engineering tasks, implementation, data, infrastructure/operations, and security engineer tasks
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working in a team environment
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
• US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance

Responsibilities

• Estimate, design, develop, and test optimized features for deployment
• Work with contemporaries to identify areas for improvement and optimize systems to enhance partner integration, system stability, security and data integrity

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Apache Kafka
• Agile Delivery experience
• Experience working with the government, specifically with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
