Full Stack Engineer

Summary

Join Coalition's CoalitionRe Team, a small and agile team developing software for reinsurance efforts. This full-stack position requires Python (and Flask), HTML/CSS, and React expertise. You will contribute to code, extend the CoalitionRe service, lead front-end development, and collaborate with the Product Team. On-call rotation is expected, though infrequent. The role demands disciplined workload management, strong written communication, and teamwork.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field with at least three years of work experience, or equivalent work experience
• Experience writing code in a modern programming language, preferably Python
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively convey engineering-related topics to team members
• A collaborative and team-oriented mindset, capable of working effectively in a diverse and fast-paced environment
• Effective problem-solving skills to analyze and debug code
• Curiosity to learn and openness to feedback
• Autonomous and disciplined approach to work

Responsibilities

• Contribute to code: tested, maintainable, extensible, but pragmatic
• Extend and improve the existing CoalitionRe service
• Become the primary driver for front-end related development for the CoalitionRe service
• Interface with Product Team to clarify requirements, provide feedback on required effort
• On-Call rotation participation (this means a regular expectation to respond to incidents outside of regular working hours – it happens rarely and we’d like to keep it that way.)
