Summary

Join our team as a Full Stack Web Developer in Washington, D.C. or remotely. This full-time position requires a US Govt background clearance. Responsibilities include web development using open-source languages and frameworks, API development, working in agile environments, documentation, and ensuring Section 508 compliance. A Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience are required. Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Have 5+ years of related experience
  • Have experience using modern web development tools, techniques, and methods for the creation and deployment of user-facing interfaces and backend web applications, including all aspects of server-side processing, data storage, and integration
  • Be comfortable working in an agile and lean environment to routinely deploy changes
  • Be capable of working independently to build functional, secure, and accessible web applications from conception to production deployment
  • Possess a US Govt background clearance

Responsibilities

  • Develop web applications using open-source web programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and frameworks (e.g., Flask, React, Nuxt)
  • Develop JavaScript applications using modern standards, including strict mode compliance, modularization techniques and tools, and frameworks and libraries (e.g., jQuery, React, Vue, Angular, D3)
  • Develop and consume web-based, RESTful APIs
  • Work in team environments using agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Lean)
  • Author developer-friendly documentation (e.g., API documentation, deployment operations)
  • Use version control systems, specifically Git and GitLab
  • Quickly research and learn new programming tools and techniques
  • Ensure Section 508 Compliance
  • Work with relational and non-relational database systems
  • Utilize scalable search technology (e.g., ElasticSearch, Solr)
  • Handle large data sets and scale their handling and storage
  • Use and work with open-source solutions and community
