Fullstack Developer, Front-end Heavy

Summary

Join UpCloud and be part of a team building a cloud infrastructure from scratch using open-source Linux tools, Go & Perl, and a microservices architecture. You will work on core software (computation, storage, networks), improve the control panel and user experience, enhance APIs and UIs, and contribute to new cloud offerings. The role requires frontend (React, TypeScript, CSS) and backend (Golang or Perl) development skills, API development knowledge, and a proactive mindset. Requirements

• Skills and background in frontend development: our stack is React, TypeScript, and CSS. You should be skilled in at least two of these
• Understanding and skills with backend development. Our stack is Golang or Perl, so working with them is even better!
• Knowledge and practice with API development and modern practices
• A proactive work mindset will give you plenty of freedom and responsibility

Responsibilities

• Work as part of an experienced team focused on our core software: computation, storages, and networks
• Improve the control panel and user experience for the team’s products
• Focus on improving customer-facing APIs and our UIs, like the UpCloud Hub
• Enhance and upgrade our internal integrations and collaborate with our other development teams
• Participate in building our next level of cloud offering, like improved storages and compute plans

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in applying CI/CD and other automation tooling, as well as Git
• Skills and background in designing and improving UX/CX
• Experience working with distributed architecture and building microservices
• Understanding of customer expectations for cloud infrastructure
• Understanding of the Linux platform (Kernel parameters, initrd, systems)
