Fullstack Engineer

Join DeepLearning.AI, a leading educational technology company, as a remote Fullstack Developer! This contractor position, open to Latin American candidates, focuses on building a prototype for a new college admissions product. You will be responsible for front-end and back-end development, database management, and ensuring software quality. Success requires expertise in various frameworks and languages, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The role reports to the General Manager of the new business. Remote work is possible within three time zones of California. Requirements

• Have experience developing desktop applications from scratch
• Have familiarity with common stacks
• Have knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript)
• Have knowledge of multiple object-oriented languages (e.g. Java, Python) and multiple frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
• Have familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design
• Have excellent communication skills and the ability to have in-depth technical discussions with both the engineering team and business people
• Have excellent English language skills
• Be a self-starter and comfortable working in an early-stage environment
• Have the ability to prototype, build, ship and iterate quickly on software products
• Have strong project management and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design
• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
• Create security and data protection settings
• Build features and applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Have a BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar field; Master’s or PhD degree is a plus
• Have an understanding of AI/ML models
• Have an understanding of big data tools, including Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc
• Have experience with consumer applications and data handling
• Have familiarity with data privacy regulations and best practices
