Fullstack Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Fullstack Engineer at GitLab, focusing on building observability features into their DevOps Platform. The role involves collaborating with other teams and working closely with customers. The job requires strong experience in VueJS or another modern JavaScript web framework, Ruby and Rails, Grafana, Data Visualization, writing automated tests, using Git, and a solid understanding of semantic HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts.

Requirements

• Strong experience with VueJS or another modern JavaScript web framework (Angular, Ember, etc.)
• Experience with Ruby and Rails
• Experience working with Grafana, Data Visualization, Single Page Application Development
• Experience with writing automated tests (e.g. Jest, Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, AVA, tape)
• Experience using Git in a professional/workplace environment

Responsibilities

• Developing Javascript UI and Ruby on Rails Fullstack components and visualizations for tracing, logging, metrics
• Creating a consistent user experience across monitoring features
• Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders within Engineering (e.g. UX) to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer some GCP and/or AWS experience
• Prefer some experience operating a managed Kubernetes cluster (ex. GKE or EKS)
• Prefer experience with Cortex, Thanos, Jaeger, or other similar open source observability systems
