Requirements
- Experience: 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4 years focused on advertising technology (programmatic, real-time bidding, SSP/DSP integration, Prebid, etc.)
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in high-performance backend systems, with extensive experience in languages such as Javascript, Node, Python, or similar, and strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
- Ad Tech Knowledge: Deep understanding of digital advertising ecosystems, including ad exchanges, SSPs, DSPs, and identity solutions, as well as familiarity with standards like OpenRTB, VAST, and IAB frameworks
- Data Proficiency: Experience working with large-scale data systems and monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and data accuracy
- Privacy & Compliance: Working knowledge of privacy regulations and experience implementing data governance and compliance within ad tech solutions
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of identifying and solving complex problems in ad technology
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams
- Leadership & Mentorship: Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical and cultural leadership within an engineering team
Responsibilities
- Lead Ad Tech Initiatives: Take ownership of technical strategy, design, and implementation for core ad technology systems, focusing on scalability, robustness, and performance
- System Architecture & Development: Architect and develop complex, high-performance ad systems, including programmatic bidding, ad servers, data pipelines, and tracking infrastructure
- Optimize Ad Performance: Implement and maintain systems to enhance ad viewability, loading speeds, CPM, and ad targeting accuracy
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to define requirements, technical specs, and product goals
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Ensure high code quality, performance, and reliability through code reviews, testing, and monitoring. Contribute to and enforce engineering standards, particularly in ad tech
- Privacy & Compliance: Implement ad technology solutions in compliance with privacy regulations and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
- Innovate & Experiment: Identify new technologies and methodologies to drive innovation in our ad products and conduct experiments to validate hypotheses around ad optimization and new features
- Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor other engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry Tools: Experience with ad-serving technologies, consent management systems, and analytics tools (e.g., Prebid, OneTrust, Amplitude)
- Experimentation and A/B Testing: Background in designing and executing ad-related experiments for optimizing yield and user experience
- Certification: Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, data analytics, or ad technology are a plus
