Summary

The job is for a freelance backend developer to work remotely for HubHub, a fast-growing startup that consolidates content from various platforms. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining backend services, developing web scraping services, collaborating with the frontend team, and more.

Requirements

• Proficient in Golang/Gin
• Expertise in Node/Express
• Basic Familiarity with Python/FastAPI
• Advanced Skills in MongoDB and Redis

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our team to design, implement, and maintain our backend services
• Develop robust web scraping services, and manage data extraction and processing
• Write efficient, maintainable, and reusable Golang, Javascript and Python code
• Collaborate with frontend team members to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Web Scraping Development: Spearhead the development of robust web scraping services. This includes managing data extraction, processing, and devising innovative solutions for scraping heavily JavaScript dependent websites as well as non-JavaScript websites
• Debug and optimize our backend services to ensure optimal performance
• Engage in system design and code reviews, enhancing the quality of our product
• Help implementing an event driven algorithm to mix lists of content items

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Headless Scraping Tools
• DevOps Knowledge
• Machine Learning skills
