Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising or development, with a strong track record in nonprofit funding
- Proven success in securing major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and presentations
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Proficiency in donor management software and CRM systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising best practices, trends, and regulations
- Experience in budget management and financial reporting
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
Responsibilities
- Oversee and nurture donor relations, including developing and implementing strategies to cultivate and retain major donors
- Design, plan, and execute diverse fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, special events, and capital campaigns
- Build and maintain relationships with philanthropic organizations, government entities, and corporate sponsors
- Develop and manage the organization's fundraising budget, setting realistic goals and monitoring progress
- Lead the grant writing process, including researching opportunities, writing proposals, and managing reporting requirements
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling fundraising materials and communications
- Manage and mentor the development team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Implement and maintain a donor database system to track contributions and generate reports
- Ensure compliance with all relevant fundraising regulations and ethical standards
- Represent the organization at community events and speaking engagements to promote its mission and fundraising initiatives
- Develop and implement planned giving programs to secure long-term financial stability for the organization
- Analyze fundraising metrics and prepare regular reports for the leadership team and board of directors
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification preferred
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends for events
- Passion for the organization's mission and ability to articulate its value to potential donors
