Game Writer

Summary

Join our team as a game writer for Modern Community, creating engaging stories and dialogue for players. As a full-time, fully-remote position, you'll work from home with core hours Monday to Friday, 1pm - 4pm ET/10am - 1pm PT.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a solid understanding of spelling and grammar
• The ability to receive feedback on your work and apply the revisions
• The ability to generate ideas and write them quickly
• Great team player (very fun team)
• Strong knowledge of Google Docs/Sheets
• Be open to learning new tools and processes
• Be open to sharing your knowledge with others

Responsibilities

• Writing extensive dialogue for characters
• Conceptualizing new dramatic situations, stories, and characters
• Communicating story ideas with members of the team
• Writing UI text for sales, events, and tutorials
• Creating documentation for new ideas or features

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing for video games, especially in a live service environment
• Experience writing comic books, television, films, or plays
• BA or BS degree in English, or Creative Writing
• A love for casual mobile games
• Ability to speak multiple languages
• A sense of humor
