As a Platform Engineer, you will architect and execute application migrations to GCP, lead migration initiatives, and manage multi-platform environments. Requirements
- +5 years of experience in platform engineering or cloud infrastructure (GCP)
- Strong expertise in application containerization (Docker, container security, optimization)
- Proficiency in Kubernetes orchestration and Helm package management
- Proven track record of successful application migration projects
- Experience with database administration and migration (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Proficiency in Python, C, and Java programming languages
- Hands-on experience with Linux, Unix, and Windows environments
- Demonstrated expertise with web servers (Tomcat, Apache)
- Strong background in API integration and development (REST, SOAP)
- Experience with database connectors and optimization techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams
- Self-motivated learner with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies
- Work from EU and a work permit to work from EU are required
Responsibilities
- Architect and execute application migrations to GCP - containerizing and deploying to the GCP cloud (Kubernetes, VMs)
- Lead migration initiatives from on-premises systems to modern cloud infrastructure, ensuring minimal service disruption
- Architect and execute live update strategies, managing planned downtimes with minimal business impact
- Manage multi-platform environments spanning Linux, Unix, and Windows systems
- Implement automated deployment pipelines for continuous delivery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful migrations
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of authentication systems (SSO, LDAP) implementation
- Experience with High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments
- Background in zero-downtime deployment strategies
- Familiarity with cloud cost optimization
- Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements
