Summary
Join Dexterra Group's Horizon North-Chi Mino Ozhitoowin Joint Venture as a General Helper and contribute to a successful culinary team in a remote camp setting. This crucial role involves maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, stocking supplies, assisting with food production, and adhering to a 2-week on/2-week off rotation. The position offers all meals and accommodations, travel to and from the site, and access to various amenities. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, assisting in food production, and handling physical demands. The ideal candidate possesses experience in large-scale kitchen settings, a team-oriented approach, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Requirements
- Have a valid government issued photo ID for travel to site
- Be able to handle the following physical demands: Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs
- Be able to climb ladders or stairs
- Be able to stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended periods of time
- Be able to perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands
- Be able to perform work with arms at full length
- Be able to perform work with arms above shoulder height
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout shift, including lunchrooms, dining room, servery, ware wash area, main kitchen and storage areas
- Regularly sweep and mop all floors, including walk-in coolers and storage areas
- Stock all needed food, beverage and paper/disposable supplies as required
- Dispose of all garbage, cardboard and recyclables as required
- Correctly label, date and rotate all products put out for service
- Assist in food production as required
- Receive and store supplies (food, beverages, chemical and paper/disposables)
Preferred Qualifications
- Have experience assisting in large-scale kitchen settings in camp settings, banquet halls and/or hotels
- Have current Food Safe certification
- Be able to commit to a 2 week on/2 week off rotation
- Be a team-player who is committed to providing client satisfaction
- Be able to prioritize multiple task demands and organize a work schedule
