German language tagger / translator

Summary

Join our team as a German teacher or translator to enhance our interactive reader tool! This remote, contract position involves improving our German passage development tools by automating grammar tagging. You will perform basic translation and grammatical feature identification. The project is estimated at 10 hours per week for 3 months, with potential for future phases. We seek a native German speaker with advanced English proficiency and grammatical expertise. Successful candidates will demonstrate familiarity with Google Suite and the ability to attend occasional meetings.

Requirements

• Native speaker/writer of German
• Advanced proficiency in English
• Able to identify grammatical features like part of speech, case, person/number/gender, tense, etc. in German with the help of some guidelines
• Good familiarity with google suite (sheets, docs, filesharing, etc.)
• Able to attend occasional meetings on Google Meets during EST work hours
• Ability to learn new technologies

Responsibilities

• Improve the tools we use to develop new German passages by automating some of our grammar tagging
• Your work will mostly involve basic translation and identification of grammatical features (e.g. part of speech, person/number/gender, etc.) with the aid of our guidelines
• We will also request that you attend a limited number of meetings to provide feedback and discuss the results with the rest of the team
