Summary
Join WAC as a G/T Teacher and play a key role in providing high-quality special education services to eligible students. Reporting to the Director of Student Services, you will be responsible for delivering instruction, managing caseloads, ensuring services are delivered as outlined in ALPs, attending meetings, and completing administrative tasks. This position requires a Gifted and Talented Education endorsement, a valid Colorado G/T teaching license, and at least two years of experience in the field. Proficiency in Google Suite and various online teaching tools is essential. We offer competitive hourly pay, health benefits, and a 401K.
Requirements
- Possess a Gifted and Talented Education endorsement
- Valid Colorado G/T teaching license
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive)
- Experience using Zoom, Canvas, and online teaching tools
- Ability to pass a background check
- At least 2 years experience in the field of Gifted and Talented Education
Responsibilities
- Provide Special Education Services
- Demonstrate ability to appropriately identify students’ areas of giftedness
- Use depth and complexity to design and teach targeted at ALP goals according to student’s identified needs
- Regularly collect data for progress reports and ALP goals
- Use performance evaluations such as the CoGat to create a clear and consistent identification process for students referred for Gifted and Talented
- Provide opportunities for growth in the student's area of giftedness
- Write lessons for and train paraprofessionals in proper instruction techniques (as needed)
- Manage Gifted and Talented Caseload
- Coordinate and facilitate ALP meetings with essential stakeholders
- Manage ALP notifications and paperwork
- Create unique programming to Instruct, monitor and report on student progress towards goals
- Ensure that students in their caseload receive all services as outlined on their ALPs
- Manage existing student schedules to ensure students receive proper service times
- Contact students and parents/guardians via phone, email, or text on a regular basis
- Keep track of upcoming meetings for students in their caseload and maintain proper paperwork and documentation for these meetings
- Attend Special Ed L10 Meeting
- Report student attendance and data numbers on weekly scorecard
- Develop quarterly goals or “Rocks” for professional development
- Reply to all emails within 24 hours and complete all Asana tasks
- Attend all required meetings

- Experience in delivering online G/T services
- Proven experience working with school staff, students, and their families

- Ability to respond effectively to the needs of diverse students and families
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a digital environment
