Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree: A 4-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical study in a relevant field is required
  • Five plus years of Experience with ESRI ARCGIS Pro and ArcMap Online in an outside/inside plant telecommunications setting
  • Proficiency in using ARCGIS Pro for geospatial analysis, mapping, and data visualization
  • Hands-on experience with ArcMap Online for creating and managing maps, layers, and web applications
  • Experience with GIS database management (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle Spatial)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain naming conventions, schemas, and other aspects of rendering networks as digital abstractions in GIS platforms
  • Ensure all users adhere to the naming standards and use cases relative to various map layers and use cases
  • Ensure GIS platforms are accurate, including base as-built maps, under-construction maps, planned routes, on-net buildings, near-net buildings, customers, and key data centers/points of presence
  • Manage GIS databases, including data acquisition, storage, and retrieval
  • Design and implement GIS applications and tools to support organizational requirements
  • Configure and maintain GIS software, including updates, patches, and troubleshooting
  • Provide technical support and training to users of GIS systems
  • Develop and document GIS workflows and procedures
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to integrate GIS with other systems and applications
  • Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to ensure reliability and efficiency
  • Maintain data security and integrity in accordance with organizational policies and industry best practices
  • Keep abreast of developments in GIS technology and recommend enhancements or upgrades as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • GISP Certification (Preferred)
  • Experience with 3GIS
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is a plus
