Summary
Join Instrumentl, a hypergrowth YC-backed startup, as our Government Grants Team Lead! Lead and grow a team of grant builders, developing and implementing comprehensive sourcing strategies for federal, state, county, and city grants. You will be responsible for setting and achieving KPIs and OKRs, modernizing systems, and collaborating with other teams. The ideal candidate possesses strong government funding expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for supporting nonprofits. Requirements
- Meticulous in reviewing and entering data with high precision
- Strong background in federal, state, county, and city grant processes and requirements
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team
- Ability to develop and execute effective sourcing strategies
- Experience in modernizing systems and optimizing workflows
- Commitment to achieving and exceeding KPIs and OKRs
- Strong communication skills for collaboration and feedback
- Proficiency with remote collaboration tools like Slack and Zoom, and familiarity with SaaS platforms
- Dedicated to Instrumentl’s mission to support the nonprofit community
- Previous experience in administering or applying for government grants
- Comfortable working in an early-stage startup with a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Responsibilities
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor a small team of government grant builders
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for federal, state, county, and city grants
- Continuously refine and optimize grant sourcing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Set, monitor, and achieve weekly KPIs and monthly OKRs for the government grants team
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Identify and implement improvements to outdated systems and workflows
- Collaborate with the product team to suggest and prioritize feature enhancements based on team feedback and operational needs
- Work closely with Sarah B (Private Grants Team Lead), Jason (Review Team Lead), and Karen (Federal Grants Specialist) to ensure cohesive grant building efforts across teams
- Report directly to Bonnie, Content Operations Manager, providing regular updates on team performance and project status
- Ensure all grant data is accurate, up-to-date, and meets Instrumentl’s quality standards
- Oversee the resolution of discrepancies and errors in grant listings in collaboration with the Content Review and Customer Success teams
