Join Canva's SEA team and redefine how the world experiences design. As a Graphic Designer, you will create static and motion-based assets for campaigns and content across various platforms, focusing on the unique cultures and preferences of local markets in Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia and the Philippines. This 6-month contract role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure creative alignment with Canva's brand. You will design visual assets, contribute to creative testing, track deliverables, and support Truly Local campaigns. The ideal candidate possesses proven experience in Southeast Asian markets, excels in translating culture into visuals, and thrives in collaborative environments. A strong portfolio showcasing design skills and proficiency in relevant tools is essential.
Requirements
- You have proven experience working across different Southeast Asian markets (with a focus on Indonesia and the Philippines), and utilising local insights to deliver locally relevant and highly impactful creative
- You have experience designing for static, motion, or event printed materials. Whether it’s video, motion graphics, or static assets, your work brings ideas to life in ways that resonate with diverse audiences
- You’re a master of translating culture into visuals. Your designs feel personal and relevant, bridging local nuances with Canva’s global brand identity
- You thrive on collaboration. Working with marketers, product teams, and researchers excites you, and you see feedback as a gift that sharpens your creative edge
- You balance ideation and execution. From big-picture concepts to pixel-perfect execution, you know how to deliver ideas that meet both creative and strategic goals
- Your portfolio is a testament to your skill and passion. It showcases your ability to craft designs that reflect brand values, modern aesthetics, and creative thinking
- You’re a pro with tools and processes. Whether it’s Figma, After Effects, or Canva itself, you’re confident in your ability to deliver efficiently and effectively
- You’re organized and detail-oriented. In a fast-paced environment, you manage your time like a pro and deliver your best work, even under pressure
- You have experience working on brand and performance campaigns for direct-to-consumer tech brands at scale, delivering high volume and global production efforts
Responsibilities
- Designing compelling visual assets (static and motion) for regional campaigns, local activations, and evergreen creative projects
- Collaborating with the marketing, growth, and design teams to ensure all assets align with Canva’s visual language and brand tone
- Contributing to the creative testing of Meta ads and performance marketing campaigns, optimizing designs based on data insights
- Ensuring deliverables are tracked and completed on time while maintaining a high-quality standard
- Supporting Truly Local campaigns in Indonesia and the Philippines, tailoring visuals to resonate with target audiences
- Participating in and contribute to conceptual workshops and ideation for creative requirements
- Tracking deliverables and ensure consistency in Canva’s brand pillars across platforms
Preferred Qualifications
Having experience as an Art Director is a plus!
