Summary
Join Energy Vault®, a company committed to sustainable energy solutions, as a student intern supporting Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing of grid interactive inverters for utility-scale energy storage systems. This internship provides practical experience with cutting-edge energy storage technologies. You will work alongside industry experts to simulate, analyze, and troubleshoot complex systems. The role involves design verification tests and collaboration with internal and external teams to ensure the solution meets project requirements. This is a remote opportunity.
Requirements
- Current Master’s or Ph.D. student with research focus on grid interactive inverters with solid power systems/power electronics background
- Deep technical knowledge of grid-forming and grid-following inverters
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, preferably OPAL-RT or other platforms such as Typhoon and RTDS
- Experience with designing, testing, analyzing, evaluating high power and voltage power electronics systems
- Experience in testing inverter control board gate drivers and protection circuits
- Strong interest in renewable energy and energy storage industry
Responsibilities
- Perform design verification tests of grid interactive inverters in the HIL platform
- Work with internal and external teams to determine system requirements and verify our solution will meet and exceed project requirements
