Summary

Join Environment Bank (EB), a rapidly growing organization committed to biodiversity, as a Capital Works Project Manager. Based in the Midlands and East Anglia (with consideration for other English locations), you will play a key role in delivering habitat creation and enhancement projects. Working closely with ecologists and land managers, you will manage contractors, plan and program works, conduct quality audits, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. Requirements

  • Educated to a degree level in a relevant subject. Or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of the principles and practice of habitat creation/ restoration and management
  • A track record of delivering nature recovery projects
  • Experience of working directly with farmers and landowners, in a professional capacity
  • Experience in rural land management
  • Strong interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work as part of team
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Good financial skills and experience in budget setting, cost management and forecasting
  • Full UK clean driving license and willingness to travel for regional site visits and events

Responsibilities

  • Deliver habitat creation and enhancement projects safely, on-time and to budget
  • Work alongside EB ecologists and land managers as part of ‘project teams’ with responsibility for the delivery of sites
  • Lead on the procurement and awarding of works to suitably vetted contractors and suppliers
  • Manage contractors and delivery partners
  • Plan and program of works to ensure they are completed to the highest quality, to an agreed timescale, taking account of seasonal constraints, and within budget
  • Undertake quality audits and be responsible for signing off completed works
  • Maintain high quality relationships with landowners, their contractors, and other stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

A Health and Safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH/IOSH
