Requirements

  • Have applicable experience in the healthcare, life sciences, or medical technology industry
  • Have advanced level knowledge of medical terminology and working knowledge of HCPCS coding
  • Have a strong understanding of medical product functionality and terminology
  • Have experience obtaining, reviewing, and collating information from a variety of sources, particularly related to medical devices/medical equipment
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Have strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills
  • Have excellent English comprehension and written communication skills
  • Have a high degree of proficiency in MS Excel
  • Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Information Systems or a healthcare-related discipline (e.g., biotechnology, biomedical engineering, or medical electronics)
  • Have a minimum of 2 years medical coding experience (encompassing multiple clinical specialties) and a minimum of 1 year of medical auditing experience
  • Have completion of a certified medical coder education curriculum or coding certification
  • Be a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coder Specialist-Physician (CCS-P), and/or Certified Coder Specialist (CCS)

Responsibilities

  • Source and enrich transactional data elements based on defined standards relative to medical surgical devices and supplies to ensure data quality for the GHX customer base
  • Ensure timely delivery of accurate data
  • Work closely with Product Operations Manager to provide timely feedback for requirements supporting operational needs
  • Contribute to the development of processes and procedures that support Content Operations goals and objectives
  • Contribute different thoughts, ideas and viewpoints that lead to greater innovation on projects and cross-functional collaborative efforts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have project management skills
  • Have supply chain knowledge
  • Have a basic understanding of the UNSPSC
  • Have an understanding of distributor/manufacturer relationships
  • Have SQL knowledge
  • Have knowledge of ICD-9, CPT Procedural Codes and/or UNSPSC
  • Be able to travel up to 15% annually
