Summary

Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience supervising
- 5+ years housekeeping experience working in a remote camp setting
- Valid Drivers License
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions typical of Nunavut (i.e.: extreme cold weather, 24 hour darkness during the winter months, etc.)
- Must have valid government issued photo ID for travel to site
- Ability to handle the following physical demands: Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs
- Climb ladders or stairs
- Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended periods of time
- Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands
- Perform work with arms at full length
- Work with arms above shoulder height
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings to discuss tasks and safety
- Implement and enforce housekeeping and janitorial maintenance policies and procedures
- Perform daily and weekly housekeeping and janitorial audits
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising a housekeeping team of up to 10 employees
- Recommend promotions, transfers, and dismissals to management
- Train staff on safe work practices, equipment operations, and emergency procedures
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and place orders as required
- Assist with monthly inventory counts in the housekeeping department
- Attend all required health and safety training sessions
- Report and address safety concerns
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, OHSA, and company policies
- Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
- Maintain daily communication with the Lodge Manager and the Front Desk regarding room discrepancies
- Foster a positive and cooperative work environment

Familiarity with progressive discipline and other HR related matters
